Announcing the Farmer's Impact Fund

I just returned from my trip to Nayarit Mexico to visit our partner Hector and his family. I want to thank him for the experience of visiting his coffee farm, staying in their bodega, and speaking about our future together. 

When I started Unbound Brews, I was interested in thinking about how we are going to ensure that our coffee producers prosper with us, especially a producer like Hector who is the third generation of their business. In our system of capitalism, I think about the way of obtaining wealth for our children and children of our children and for me the most important part is the ability to own something.

With this thought, I want to announce the Farmers Impact Fund, the promise to our coffee producers that if Unbound Brews grows in value, we are going to grow together. The concept depends on 3 parts

1. First, we are going to pay higher prices than Fair Trade so that producers can harvest every year.

2. Second, we are going to invest in the community because I want to be part of the community.

3. Third, with our growth in value, we ensure that the coffee producers are part owners of Unbound Brews. With this promise, we can share the earnings with the people that play the most important part in the process of bringing a cup of coffee to your table.

Acabo de volver de mi viaje a Nayarit México para visitar a nuestro socio Héctor y su familia. Quiero agradecer a él por la experiencia de visitar a su finca de café, quedarme en su bodega, y hablar de nuestro futuro juntos.

Cuando empecé  Unbound Brews, me interesaba pensar en como vamos a asegurar que nuestros productores de café prosperan con nosotros, especialmente un productor como Héctor quien es la tercera generación de su negocio. En nuestro sistema de capitalismo, pienso sobre la manera de obtener riqueza por sus hijos e hijos de sus hijos, y para mí la parte más importante es la habilidad de ser dueño de algo.

Con este pensamiento, quiero anunciar el Farmers Impact Fund, la promesa a nuestros productores de café que si Unbound Brews crecería en valor, vamos a crecer juntos. El concepto depende de tres partes

1.    Primero, vamos a pagar mas alto que Fair Trade para que los productores puedan hacer la cosecha año a ano

2.    Segundo, vamos a invertir en la comunidad porque tengo ganas de ser parte de la comunidad.

3.    Tercero, con nuestro crecimiento en valor, aseguramos que los productores de café son dueños en parte de Unbound Brews. Con esta promesa, podemos compartir las ganancias con la gente quien juega la parte más importante en el proceso de traer una taza de café a su mesa.
