Can I grind coffee beans in advance?
The moment coffee beans are ground, their delicate flavors and aromas begin to escape into the air. While it’s safe to consume pre-ground coffee, the peak flavor fades quickly—most experts agree noticeable changes start within 30 mins. For the most vibrant and flavorful cup, brew your coffee the same day you grind it.
Do you offer pre-ground coffee?
To ensure you receive the maximum flavor experience and appreciate the journey from pick-to-sip, we exclusively offer whole bean coffee and recommend finding a coffee grinder that fits your budget to enjoy freshly ground coffee every day.

What happens if my hot coffee cools down?
For the highest quality coffee experience, it’s best to enjoy coffee immediately after brewing, before it gets to room temperature. Using heat during brewing unlocks many of the unique flavors in coffee, but reheating brewed coffee will degrade these unique flavors.
Have it Jonny’s Way: If your coffee cools to room temperature, keep cooling it by adding ice to make an iced coffee—a way to change up the experience, especially on warmer days!
How do I dilute coffee properly?

Do coffee beans expire?
How long do whole beans last? Up to 3 months generally–be sure to check out our full freshness & flavor guide here!
How do I store coffee beans?
Our whole bean bags are equipped with a 1-way valve, so you can leave the beans in their original packaging. Seal tightly between uses by folding the ties flat. The valve releases carbon dioxide while keeping oxygen out, preserving freshness. Store in a cool, dry place away from heat or sunlight. Avoid the fridge as moisture and temperature swings can degrade the beans and dull their flavor.
Can I freeze coffee beans?
Freezing locks in the freshness of your beans at the time they go in (check out our guide to coffee freshness here). If you won’t use beans within 1-2 weeks, freeze them in a freezer-safe container or in airtight bags, pressing out as much air as possible before sealing. Only take out what you need at a time and avoid repeated freezing and thawing to preserve quality. Treat your beans with care—they deserve it!

When will my order ship?
Once you’ve completed your order, we’ll send you a confirmation email to let you know we’re on it. After freshly roasting or brewing your coffee, we’ll send it on its way! When your order ships, you’ll receive a shipping notification email with a tracking number so you can follow your order's journey. This link will give the most up-to-date delivery time.
Please note: it can sometimes take 1-2 business days for the carrier to update the tracking, so if you don’t see it immediately, don’t worry—good things take time.
How does cold brew stay cool during delivery?
Cold brews arrive in an insulated cooler bag with ice packs to keep things cool for up to 24 hours (even in the California heat). If you're a Cold Brew subscription member, you receive $3 off your next order for returning the packaging materials to us!

How much does shipping cost?
Enjoy free shipping for orders over $45 (local orders deliver for free!), otherwise we promise to work with our preferred shipping partner to get the best rates for your package of roasted-to-order coffee.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship globally! We have a minimum order value of $200 to receive Free Shipping for international orders outside of North America.
Can I update my shipping address or payment information?
Log into your customer account to update your subscriptions, addresses, or payment methods.
You may also reach out to us from our contact page prior to your shipment being processed if you need further assistance.
If you are looking to edit your subscription address, please be sure to update your specific subscription as your Shopify account may have multiple addresses.
What is your return policy?
We’re committed to making every cup an exceptional experience. If a shipment is missed or an order is lost, we’ve got you covered! For any issues with your product or concerns about your order, please reach out to us. We’ll work closely with you to address your needs and ensure your coffee journey remains delightful.

Is it possible to make a 1-time purchase without subscribing?
Absolutely. We know every coffee journey is unique, so all products are available for one-time purchase. Enjoy free shipping for all orders over $45 (local orders deliver for free)!
If you fall in love with our brews and decide to subscribe, you’ll receive 15% off as our way of saying thank you for joining our community.
How does a subscription work?
Our subscription is the most thoughtful way to enjoy high-quality coffee at an even better value. Subscribers receive 15% off every order, cold brew or whole bean, and can choose a delivery cadence that fits their rhythm, making it easy to stay stocked without missing a beat.
We send out a friendly reminder about your next subscription order 3 days before it is processed. All subscription orders are renewed on Tuesdays (so if you initially sign-up for your subscription on a different day, your subscription will automatically renew every Tuesday after the 1st order). You can pause, cancel, or edit your next subscription at any time.
We strive to fulfill all subscriptions 24-48 hours after the order is processed, so look out for the confirmation email that your coffee has been shipped! For local deliveries, subscriptions will be delivered by Friday.

How does the Cold Brew packaging return process work?
As an impact-focused company, we always look for ways to play our part in a more sustainable world. You can play a part too by supporting our packaging reuse initiative!
How it works:
- Look out for our subscription order reminder email 2 days before your next delivery
- Place the Unbound Brews packaging items outside of your home by midnight before your order is processed. This includes the cooler, ice packs, and any empty bottles after thorough enjoyment of our craft cold brew.
- We’re reward you by taking $3 off that delivery for supporting our packaging reuse initiative

How do I pause/cancel my subscription?
You can pause, cancel, or edit your subscription at any time. We offer several ways to make adjustments to your subscription:
- Log into your customer account with us, then click ‘Manage Subscriptions’
- Click ‘view subscription’ on the confirmation email you received when you placed your first order
- If all else fails, send us a message and we’ll help you out
